
In the beginning Neuland’s main sources of income were agricultural products.
The community harvested for their own use as well as to sell. Of all production income, agriculture currently ranks in third place.
Peanuts are the main crop and in great demand. The best nuts are exported to Japan and Europe for candy manufacturing.
The lower quality nuts are sold to cooking oil manufacturers. The sesame crop is becoming more prominent due to its great demand. Other crops include cotton, corn, castor and sorghum; the latter is also used for silage.
