Cattle-raising and meat sales are presently Neuland’s main activity. The Neuland cooperative owns one of the most modern and complete meat processing plants in the country; which is internationally accredited for its meat quality.
The meat processing plant prepares different cuts under the name “Traza-beef” and exports large quantities.
The international meat market is constantly growing and providing more sales opportunities for the cooperative. The meat also stands out on a national level, providing most supermarkets and restaurants with the local brand “Carne Boquerón” (Boquerón Meat).
The meat is amongst the best quality meat available both locally and internationally due to its great flavor and tenderness.
The cattle are from selected breeds and are fed only on natural pasture.
The slaughter-house keeps register of each animal’s origin, thereby fulfilling international quality control standards.
Fish production has also been a successful project for various families.
The small fishes are brought from Toledo, Brazil. After a year and a half, these fish have an average weight of 10 kilograms (22 pounds).
