Agriculture

At the beginning agriculture was the most important source of income in Neuland: The inhabitants planted their gardens and fields with food crops for their own consumption and cash crops they could sell. Today agriculture has moved down to the third place concerning production in Neuland.

Agriculture

The main crop is peanuts, for which there is a good market. The bigger nuts are exported to make to Japan and Europe to make confectionery. The smaller ones are processed into cooking oil. Sesame is also gaining more and more importance because of the growing demand.
